As it’s Already Summer Time and monsoons are about to come ,it makes me a little worried about my Little ones health ,so I start taking measures to prevent any such occurrence and Specially any disease caused by mosquito bite . Recently I came to know about a disease called – Japanese Encephalitis
H1 : What is Japanese Encephalitis ?
The Japanese Encephalitis is a disease caused by mosquitos bite. This mosquito is mainly found in the rural areas of Asia and Western Pacific. This virus or disease is human specific but it accidentaly affects humans. Its main targets are animals like pig, water birds ( herons and egrets ). This virus is not viral in nature and does not stay in human body for long.
H2 : What are the Symtoms of Japanese Encephalitis..?
Japanese Encephalitis majorly it does not have any symtoms. In some cases it may show some symptoms like the infection will cause neurological problems like headaches or meningitis (inflammation of the brain tissue). Other symptoms include fever, seizures, neck stiffness, disorientation, tremors, paralysis and lack of coordination. In severe cases or if left untreated,In severe cases if left untreated it may lead to paralysis or nervous system damage.

H3 : Treatment for Japanese Encephalitis Virus ..
Currently, there isnt a specific treatment for this Virus but appropriate managment of symtom is very necessary. The affected person should be kept well hydrated by drinking lots of fluids. If there is fever, proper medication should be given to control it. Pain relievers can also be given for easing pain.There is a commercially available vaccine against Japanese encephalitis. It is approved for use in people over the age of 2 months. It is recommended for people who plan to spend more than 30 days in endemic areas or those who will spend long periods of time in rural areas and outdoors, where Japanese encephalitis is common. The vaccine consists of 2 doses, which must be given 28 days apart. The second dose should not be given later than a week before traveling to these areas. Consulting a Doctor regarding vaccination for Japanese encephalitis is recommended. Pregnant women should not take the vaccine, but must consult a doctor to make sure.

The only test through which presence of Japanese Encephalitis – it can be Diagnosed by examining CSF – cerebrospinal fluid to detect the virus in patient Complaining neurological problems.

Japanese encephalitis is spread by the Culex mosquito. It is really important to protect Yourself and your Family members from the mosquitoes, both indoors and outdoors. The Culex mosquitos preferably bites during night time and They prefer breeding in polluted water, ditches, paddy fields or in water with lots of vegetation. These species typically bite cattle, pigs, and birds, and may accidently bite humans if they are in the same environment or in close proximity to these animals – e.g. farmers or people living in rural areas where agricultural activities are common.
